CODE OF CONDUCT

Introduction

The Vijay Beniwal for Redmond City Council Campaign is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all staff, volunteers, supporters, and community members. We uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in our campaign operations. This Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for all individuals representing or engaging with our campaign.

1. Respect & Inclusion

We treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and kindness, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, socioeconomic status, or background.

Discrimination, harassment, or any form of hate speech will not be tolerated.

We promote an inclusive and welcoming campaign that values diverse perspectives and experiences.

2. Integrity & Ethical Conduct

Honesty and transparency are fundamental to our campaign. We do not engage in deception, misinformation, or unethical behavior.

We comply with all local, state, and federal election laws and regulations.

Conflicts of interest must be disclosed and appropriately managed to maintain the integrity of our campaign.

3. Professionalism & Accountability

All campaign activities should reflect positively on Vijay Beniwal and our movement for Redmond City

Staff, volunteers, and supporters must conduct themselves professionally in person, online, and in all communications related to the campaign.

We take responsibility for our actions and hold each other accountable for upholding this Code of Conduct.

4. Safe & Respectful Work Environment

We do not tolerate any form of harassment, intimidation, or bullying. This includes but is not limited to verbal, physical, or online harassment.

If an individual experiences or witnesses inappropriate behavior, they are encouraged to report it to campaign leadership immediately.

Retaliation against individuals who report misconduct in good faith is strictly prohibited.

5. Responsible Communication

We engage in respectful and fact-based discourse, even when disagreements arise.

Social media and public statements must align with campaign values and avoid inflammatory, misleading, or harmful rhetoric.

Information shared within the campaign should remain confidential unless explicitly designated for public release.

6. Volunteer & Staff Expectations

Volunteers and staff represent the campaign and must act in a manner that reflects our values and mission.

All campaign materials, messaging, and events must adhere to ethical and legal standards.

Any concerns or violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported to campaign leadership for appropriate action.

7. Enforcement & Accountability

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including removal from campaign activities.

Campaign leadership reserves the right to determine the appropriate response to misconduct, including mediation or dismissal.
